Sauna Tel Aviv – Tel Aviv, Israel

Here’s the Levant, which is a historical, geographical term for this prominent area in the Eastern Mediterranean of Western Asia. It’s likely that Tel Aviv is the only city in this region with more than one gay sauna. Sauna Tel Aviv is one of them, located on Carlebach St 14, just across from Rothschild Avenue.

It is a melting pot for gay people from all over the country, representing a wide range of backgrounds. It is possible to come across IDF soldiers from the 5-steps away city center military base as you walk around. Be prepared to share some magical moments here with local Jewish and Arab boys, secular or religious (Haredim), and the occasional tourists. It probably is the most popular gay sauna in Tel Aviv, when writing this post, and if you decide to visit here, any day of the week really, you will not be disappointed.

While closed on Sundays, the most ideal time to visit is Thursday and Friday night. On those nights, the place becomes no less than a dance club with hotties of all sorts dancing on and off the scattered mini-stages. If you are not into dancing, no worries, you can relax on cheap couches and drink some (hopefully) simple non-diluted alcohol with a full bar selection of local and imports.

Unfortunately, everyone here seems to remember the police raid from 2019. In that raid, a group of policemen barged in and interrogated some of the visitors in an act perceived as homophobic. Allegedly the police were looking for prohibited substances in guests’ clothing and lockers, right amid gay pride that year.

Despite this, this place managed to overcome the incident, and as mentioned, it is still an excellent choice for spending your time in this busy city.

It features a jacuzzi, wet and dry saunas, dark room, labrinth, glory holes, full bar, lounge area, dance floor, and smoking room.

Check their Facebook page for alternating theme nights with live DJs and dancers. There are no COVID-19 restrictions here any longer, so gay pride 2022 in Tel Aviv might be your best bet for this summer.
